About Akademia:

The Academy of Theological Sciences

Theological education is a valuable asset to the church and its ministries. Often, the time and requirements needed to obtain a seminary education take away from the opportunities to serve the local church body and global community.

Akademia offers students a non-residential, competency-based theological higher education (CBTE). This allows learners to remain in their current ministries and community while intentionally deepening their spiritual convictions, training for their ministry, and growing in personal sanctification.

Akademia is an international evangelical institution located in the Balkans, in partnership with the Deploy program of Grace Seminary (seminary.grace.edu), accredited by the Association of Theological Schools.

Our Program

About the Program

This program is a competency-based model, meaning that completion is not based on actual hours spent in the classroom but on a thorough demonstration of the skills the student has mastered.

Independent Study

This theological education is independent study, meaning students will be on their own for the majority of studies and assignments. Each course includes components such as online instruction, videos, reading, discussion, and projects. Though it is independent study, all students at Akademia will have an academic proctor guiding them through each course and evaluating their work.

Our Classes

All students will meet regularly as a group for application, discussion, and clarity about the work. Each course lasts an average of 9 weeks, and the program has 13 courses (42 credit hours).

Our Timeline

The goal is for the master’s degree to be obtained in about 2.5-3.0 years but will depend on the student’s mastery of the subject.

We Connect

Each student will have a total of three proctors who oversee and assess their academic, spiritual, and ministry growth.
